Tucker Hibbert Takes Gold at ESPN’s Winter X Games 11

ASPEN/SNOWMASS, Colo. (Jan. 30, 2007) -Monster Energy/Arctic Cat's Tucker Hibbert said this was his year to take back the gold medal and he was right. It had been seven years since he stood on top of the podium as a 15-year old Semi-Pro. Now considered a veteran of the sport, Hibbert added another gold medal to his heavy and impressive collection Saturday night at ESPN's Winter X Games 11 Snocross Final.

In round one of qualifying Friday night, Hibbert took the hole-shot and dominated the six-lap race for the win; giving him a direct ticket into Saturday's final as the number one qualifier. Two rounds of qualifiers cut 20 riders, making it a 12 rider main event. In the final, fellow Arctic Cat racer Ryan Simons (No. 67 Speedwerx/Arctic Cat) took the hole-shot followed by three Arctic Cats with Hibbert in fourth place. On the fourth lap of the 18-lap final, Hibbert took the lead from Simons in a rhythm section before the finish line jump and never looked back. Known for his incredibly smooth style, Hibbert rode mistake free in front of millions of fans world-wide and took the checkers 15 seconds over Simons, who held on for second place.

Hibbert has one more snocross race on his schedule before he changes gears to the American Motorcyclist Association Supercross East Coast Series. Look for Hibbert and his Monster Energy/Arctic Cat to put in another solid performance at the World PowerSports Association Snocross Tour Eastern National in Verona, New York Febuary 11-12.

"It feels really good to win the gold medal again. I've been working so hard this year and it feels great to see it all paying off. I'm really excited about the success Monster Energy/Arctic Cat is having. The whole team is awesome. All my mechanics and crew have been putting in long, hard hours to take back the gold medal. We are having a lot of fun and it's great to work with people I enjoy being with. I'm fortunate to be able to work with a group of people that are so skilled and professional."
