Steve Martin Tops Pro Stock Qualifying During Day One of AMSOIL Duluth National

DULUTH, Minn. (Nov. 24, 2006) - Steve Martin finished last season with a win, and if his performance Friday is any indication, the rider of the No. 18 XP-S/Ski-Doo is continuing that momentum. Martin earned the top qualifying spot for tomorrow's Pro Stock final, part of the WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour 15th Annual Duluth National at Spirit Mountain. The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. CST.

Goodridge, Minnesota native Tucker Hibbert (No. 68 Monster Energy Drink/Arctic Cat) earned the second qualifying slot. Hibbert returned to the PowerSports Snowmobile Tour part-time this season after a three-year hiatus, during which he competed in AMA SuperCross racing.

Blair Morgan (No. 7c Blair Morgan Race Team/Ski-Doo) was third in the qualifying order, while his teammate Dave Allard (No. 167 Blair Morgan Racing Team/Ski Doo) was fourth. Garth Kaufman (No. 48 Arctic Cat) completed the top five.

Winners of Friday's finals were: Sport Stock, Nathaniel Bosum (No. 789 Warnert Racing/Ski-Doo); Junior 16-17, Johan Lidman (No. 152 Arctic Cat); Junior 14-15, David Joanis (No. 115 Royal Distributing/Polaris); and Women's Stock, Samantha Tarnowski (No. 234 Stud Boy/Ski-Doo).

Tomorrow's racing card features Pro finals, as well Semi-Pro and Amateur Finals. A special, non-points X Games 11 event is scheduled for Sunday.
